This 2.5. day course explores the multidimensional relationships among Brainspotting and the breadth of religio-spiritual traditions and practices, and the neural correlates of religious, spiritual, and mystical experiences. Through lectures, small group discussion, & individual reflection, and group/individual practice experiences, participants will explore and articulate their own understandings of "spirituality," "religion," "spiritual practice/discipling" and learn about those of others. Students will learn ways to integrate Brainspotting into pre-existing religion-spiritual practices and disciplines. Students will also consider the hypothesis that Brainspotting itself may be a form of religio-spiritual practice, and learn set-ups for engaging Brainspotting as a transformative neuroexperiential and religio-spiritual practice.
